If I had to pinpoint the exact moment I realized I was destined to become a copywriter, I’d say it was one particular Mother’s Day in the mid-90’s. I watched as my mother used her index finger to catch a tear that was rolling down her cheek. In her other hand, she held the card I had poured my heart and soul into writing.
The look of jealousy on my sister’s face filled me with so much joy it’s inspired every word I’ve written since. I started writing short stories to pass the time, many of them about a fifth-grade paleontologist hunting a man-eating T-Rex (guess my favorite movie).
A few years later I discovered I could make a living by crafting stories for clients that filled people with enough emotion to get them to buy, share, or learn more. Since then, I’ve made a lot of clients happy. But, Mom is still my number one fan.
